AS per conversation in the game here are a few ideals I have had over the years (Not are are compatable) 1) To lower the number of items crafted by increasing time to craft but adjust xp gain to every item crafted thats not easy. ie instead of making 20 swords in 5 minutes and gaining 1 xp make 1 sw...

Try adjusting audio settings Go to advanced options and set to "miles Fast 2D Positional Audio" and turn down volume on every things. I have had to adjust audio settings on my computer else nwn would crash every 15 minutes. It is possible its a sound in those areas that are causeing issues...
