In RL good and evil are subjective. This is not the case in D&D. They are "alignments" in the very literal meaning of the word, they are not perspectives. Like them or not, they are the very basis of the game, so you can not change them without changing the game itself at a fundamenta...

Just another opinion. Alot of the problem also stems from what some people consider evil. Take for example a Paladin.. Lets say he fights in some holy war versus another country. Well this other country has its own Paladin. Lets say one is a Paladin of Torm the other a Paladin of for words sake we ...

I face a similar problem with LG. Once Sulavan has ID'd an evil character, assuming he rates his chances, he should be laying the smack down in short order. Assuming he feels out of his league, he should be going to find someone that can do the job. However, this presents (far too often) the fear of...

Well it might be at most mages will cast the spell no matter what level they are, but then take some of the damage from the spell and not how long it lasts. The clerics have black flame and thers are used much more than mages, so if one have to be changed so does the other so we dont have any huge ...

you know, there would be a simple rule one could impliment for this sort of thing. If it has a visual effect, then you can see that visual effect. If it doesn't, you can't. That way, if the team didn't want something to have a visual effect, they could remove it and visa versa. Why Avlis can't work...

. Now i see many are a lot concerned about the damage it deals, well wake up gents this is a two way street, why dosent the bandit cleric cast it on the bandits weapons?, that will make the monsters just as strong as the players. because it would take an awful lot to make the AI that advanced. As h...

Well then just add dark fire for mages... because i really dont see why there is a problem with flameweapon since its a pnp spell but not with dark fire that is a bioware spell. Dark fire is right now now much more powerful then flameweapon, since it lasts turn per level and still increases with sp...

the above example wouldn't require a single server vault. Its based on the same logic as Avlis uses to track which server a character is meant to be on... its just passed along with them from one server vault to another.

What they really need to do is somehow make a single character vault. if your character is on HALA then you van't log into avlis or rockhome or where ever. You have to hoof it yourself. Technically, as easy as putting a flag in a box. Not the real code, cos I've not looked into coding in NWNX2 yet,...

I have never actually been turned, but I read somewhere that it happens. Maybe some super cleric would like to test it on me one day just for the sake of nerdism. -Ben/Shen assuming monks turn as outsiders, even then it will never happen to a monk because it would be impossible for a cleric to be a...

Saying something as OK because there is a spell that counters it, makes as much sense as saying Dev Crit without a save would be OK if there was a feat only available to fighters that made you immune.

There are more classes in D&D than just the casters.

joining a faction group will do it.

Celestial Army and Fiend Army are the 2 examples that leap to mind. I've never know faction changes to be something that you can do accidently or without a chance to back out before its too late.

I think a call has been made on the first part of the question. As an outer plane, the restrictions that apply to the prime material plane do not apply (as in limited spell use).

I agree that more should have been added. Personally I ignore the Red in RDD, but if the teams view is that it must be *Red*, then I would be of the opinion that you must got along with the theme (CE even by your view on them and the fact you would choose another colour to fit your alignment should ...

I would say that if you are enforcing the Red in RDD, then yes, you would need to be evil... otherwise you'd be dead. You are a disciple to a Red dragon, it will brook no weakness (not living up to the CE alignment), to be weak is to die.

I believe the bigbies spells are meant to rely on an attack roll, this meant that fighters (and boss monsters) at least had a chance... and that view by mr Gygax explains the cluster fuck that was the fighter class in first ed D&D... amazing how many people _didn't_ play that class because it wa...
