+1!

Happy Canada Day and Happy 4th!

... I know... we're now July 2nd, and so Canada Day is over... but if you guys start celebrating 4th of July on June 29th... then our Canada Day can last 'til July 8th, eh? :D ;)

Have fun and be safe all! *huggums*

Happy 4th, evryone! Here's to passionate idealism (and water fights, and backyard fireworks, and ice cream made with liquid nitrogen)!

Sung by the character John Adams in the musical "1776". Lyrics by Sherman Edwards:

Is anybody there?
Does anybody care?
Does anybody see what I see?

They want to me to quit; they say
John, give up the fight
Still to England I say
Good night, forever, good night!
For I have crossed the Rubicon
Let the bridge be burned behind me
Come what may, come what may

Commitment!

The croakers all say we'll rue the day
There'll be hell to pay in fiery purgatory
Through all the gloom, through all the gloom
I see the rays of ravishing light and glory!

Is anybody there? Does anybody care?
Does anybody see what I see?

I see fireworks! I see the pagaent and
Pomp and parade
I hear the bells ringing out
I hear the cannons roar!
I see Americans - all Americans
Free forever more!

How quiet, how quiet the chamber is
How silent, how silent the chamber is

Is anybody there? Does anybody care?
Does anybody see what I see?

Truthfully, I find it a bit odd that the people who are now so irate at bush for commuting the sentence of a man convicted of Perjury and obstruction of justice are the same people who said such things were no big deal when they tried to impeach Clinton for the same things.
