New Responses Not Turning When Read

Post by JD Smith »

Used to be that the yellow folder indicating a new response to a topic or a new topic would turn blue once I read the posting. As of yesterday; the folder continues to remain yellow after being read. I made no changes anywhere ... does anyone know why this is happening? Or how to return it back to automatically removing the yellow from the folders?

WTH ???

I read the forums ; and the folders still didn't change.

I reply to this - the last forum I read

I go back to the forum index to clik the "mark forums read" - but when I get there .. all the yellow folders are now blue?

And I still haven't done a thing ...

You can try deleting your cookies and clearing your cache. If you're running IE, go to Tools, Internet Options, and under the general tab click delete under the browsing history section. You can do the same in other browsers, but I don't know how to go about it.

With all that being said, I'm having the same problems too. None of the usual fixes are working for me. It first started about the time of the last windows update. Thats why "I'm having problems" doesn't help. We need to figure out if its you, or if its something with the forums. So please, if you are having problems, try the above and if that doesn't work, come back and post what browser(s) you use. :)

I'm using Safari and don't have a problem. Just thought I'd let you all know.

I don't use IE, Recently IE 8 was released, and may be causing issues, (It's apart of normal windows update too, so it may have gone unnoticed.) It also may have changed security settings, not allowing the site to operate as should.

It's hard to say without having my hands on the computer. I'm having zero problems myself. So it can't be the site, or server.

I also use multiple computers, and have had no problems on multiple systems.

Not sure if this has anything to do with it but IE is now running version 8, from what I've seen on varius forums seems after IE 8 was put out to be uploaded, Microsoft had some recent updates afterwards. Not sure but maybe some of the updates were meant for IE 8 and you updated them by accident? I am running 8 and not encountered any trouble but from people say that are having trouble are still running the old versions.

From what I am seeing, it's not browser specific. The only thing I can think of, is some kind of change in security options.

If it happens to me, or anyone I have access to the computer. I'll try to find out why. Hard to diagnose through forums though.
