need help

Post by poizyn69 »

The other day we got a new phone company provider, which also provides our dsl. Now I cant seem to get on Mirc. I can get on other Mirc channels just not the one used for the nwn rooms. The address Im using is irc.us.glowfish.de (6667) ..its the same one I've used before. I've tried rebooting my computer thinking that might help, but it hasnt.

Thanks in advance

Try different server.

irc.glowfish.de
irc.afraidyet.net
irc.stratics.com

hope some of those will work.

Did they provide you with a new router or firewall software? It may be one or other is currently blocking the IRC ports. A lot of routers these days have built in firewalls. Often you can access it from a brower by httping to 127.0.0.1 to modify the default settings.

Also:
192.168.2.1
192.168.1.1
192.168.2.2

Though if you can access OTHER channels, and not the #hala, it sounds like a software problem. (Or a particular UDP ruleset on server-side. Which would be extremely strange.)

Try this

Java Client (Contains ads, ran by stratics.)

If that works. likely a software issue with whatever client you use, and/or settings.

If it doesn't work. You might have a firewall issue somewhere, (Might even be on the side of the ISP)
