On Custom Races: Drow

Since it seems some people seem to miss vital information, I will cross post this info again.
Arkon wrote:The Drow of Ysgard exist as a paradox to the norm of Prime Material World Drow. Shunned by their Prime World Kin because of thier decision to take a more moral high ground, they exist in a similar society on Ysgard, but without the associated bloodlust that most of the Prime Drow have until their anger has reached it's peak. They are more xenophobic than their Prime World brethren. Often social loners, they primarily just want to be left alone. Most drow do not possess the social skills necessary to survive unheeded on the surface. This coupled with their sensitive eyes and dark skin drives them to remain below the surface in their caverns, only to come out at night under the cover of darkness. This self imposed seclusion, coupled with their common lack of tolerance for bright lights and open spaces makes them feared and mistrusted by most other Ysgardian races. Considered evil by most, they are often hunted, berated, and attacked out of fear by many surface dwelling people. This has fostered in them a mistrust, anger, and at times intolerance of the surface dwelling races of Ysgard.

Alignment: Mostly Neutral to Evil

Note to PCs planning to make Drow.
No drow may ever start out as good. All newly created drow must start out as either neutral or evil. Only through RP can your drow become fully good.

Racial Type: Elf

Racial Stats:
+2 Dex, -2 Con, +2 Int, +2 Cha. Dancing Lights (Daze 1/day), Darkness (1/day), Faerie Fire (1/Day). Darkvision, Light Blindness (Must be RP'd by all new drow), Spell Resistance, Immunity to Sleep, Hardiness vs. Enchantment, Elven Weapon Proficiencies, Skill Affinity Listen, Skill Affinity Search, Skill Affinity Spot, Keen Senses. ECL 2.

Physical Characteristics:
Also called dark elves, the drow have dark blue to black skin that resembles polished obsidian and stark white or pale yellow hair. They commonly have very pale eyes in shades of pale lilac, silver, pink, and blue. Drow also tend to be smaller and thinner than most elves.
Arkon wrote:Necessary update:

1. Drow created on either server ran by the Hala team MUST worship one of the known FR Drow gods, or else no god.

2. ALL drow come from the drow city in the staircase regardless.

3. Lloth is the Main Diety of drow in the Drow City. Thus being, all drow worshipping another god other than Lloth are considered lesser by all Lloth following drow. While allowed to join a house as a servant, they will never be able to attain any real rank in said house unless they either A) Convert to Lloth or B) Prove themselves to the Matron of the House.

4. The Drow city on Ysgard is in the Staircase, as such it is not part of or from Ysgard. Drow are from that city.

More to come as needed.
Arkon wrote:5. Drow on the Surface.

Drow are distrusted by most on the surface. While not Kill on Sight as they are on the Prime, they still are not welcome in most places and will be told to leave if seen within a city. Most drow roaming the surface these days use some form of disguise to allow them to move freely through cities and do business when need be, but if possible, drow will avoid going into a surface city unless they have to.
Arkon wrote:From this day forward, all Drow must come from one of the following houses which are depicted within the Drow City.

House d'Elghinyrr - Lolth Worshipping House

House Elg'Caress - Lolth Worshipping House

House Ib'ahalii - Psionic House (Lolth respecting)

House Lil'Ku'nal - Slave Traders of the Underdark - Kiaransali Worshippers, Lolth respectors

House So'Riatin - Lolth Worshippers

Secret House - By DM authorization only - Followers of Vhaerun and Kiaransali

If you wish to come from a different house other than one of these, it must first be approved by the team
Arkon wrote:From this day forward.

All players wishing to play a drow must submit a character background to the team for approval prior to creating the character.

This background must also contain the personality you intend to give this character.

Any drow created after this day without that approved character concept/background will be placed in immortal jail until such time as a character concept/background is submitted and approved.

To summarize. Drow must be approved, PRIOR to creation. NO drow may start as a good drow. Go back and read everything quoted earlier in this post.
