Subdual Mode Change

Post by NWDuneAuron »

The default combat mode when you enter Hala or Ysgard is now subdual mode. Most of you know what subdual mode is, for those who don't: It means when fighting another player, you cannot deathplane them - reducing them to 0 hp takes them out of the fight, but they get back up shortly thereafter. It should be noted that, in hostile CvC where both parties are using subdual mode, if you are knocked out, you are out of the fight. Standing up and resuming is not the done thing.

What this means is, if you want to kill another player, you need to actively switch to lethal combat mode. Every time this is done, it is logged on the server. Big brother watcheth thy CvC. This allows us to track griefing reports and the like that much easier.

Currently subdual mode does not work with traps. Any exploiting of this point to deathplane a player without using lethal combat mode will be severely frowned upon.

This has been done to reduce arguments and the like over CvC conflicts. There's now not the excuse of 'I forgot' for deathplaning another player. If you do so, you better have a defendable reason for it.
