Personal Plots

Apparently there seems to be some misunderstanding about the way things work here on Hala.

We have a small playerbase, and we love it. It gives us more time to focus on perticular players and perticular ideas.

Now with that being said. I want to make something clear to you all.

You have something IC that you want to do that you think will require a DM, or that you think would be fun to have a DM involved in. Send the DM you would like to run it a PM. Chances are, we would love to run it for you. Coming up with huge epic plots is hard, and while we do it, most of us prefer small personalized events. And by us, I mean us DMs.

I've said this many times in the past. If you have a nice mini plot idea or personal event you would like to see ran, send us a PM about it. We may or may not do it depending on time constraints, or we may think it is a bit over the top. But if we do, then chances are that we will talk with you about it and work something out. Don't EVER be afraid to ask us to do something like this.

I don't know about the rest of the DMs on Hala, but personally, i'm sick of only having Huge uber plots to run. I want to start running some personal plots. So bring them on folks and lets have a good time.

Is there a general place we can fier ideas at if there isnt a specific DM we would like to run our personal quest? I have a few ideas for fun Morgan times, one of which is DM specific. The others would be fine for anyone who enjoys interacting with Morgan and seeing just how long it takes to make her snap

Regarding the personal events I think sometimes it seems like players or guilds get more attention that others.
Part of the reason I think, as was mentioned, is how vocal the player is.
"Squeeky wheel gets the oil"

Most players I think, myself included, don't really want to stand up and say hey can I have an event? Makes ya feel a little greedy almost. Like, why do i deserve special attention over someone else.

If players just sit back and 'wait for their turn' they might get passed up though. Right?
My question is. Are these personal events intended to be one on one events like a character and a DM only or are they intended for a player/small group of individuals/guild to run with a concept they have.

Yeah i think just as the featherback above.... but perhaps we can anways send you ideas for small events ? not for us, just generaly

Haha, why not just request the ideas you have, regardless of the number of players involved (just yourself or a small group of your friends)? You shouldn't feel greedy, especially since Arkon not only told us it was okay but also seemed to request us to do it. I remember way back during the summer...I was always logging in just as an event ended or was already underway. And I was hearing about all these events and big plots and mini plots that people were involved in. And I was like..."why not me?!"
And I was too afraid to ask. Almost like it was bad to ask for attention, haha. If they're too busy, they'll tell you. If not, you just might get that extra bit of attention and have a good time! I remember talking to Micah one day and mentioning this and also mentioning within the same conversation about how Illithids are my all time favorite creature ever. And guess what? A couple weeks later I met a Micah-controlled Illithid! That really made my night. (Heck, even now I still talk to Cal and Niko about it IC. It was such a big thing for Scel).
Anyway, um, ask for DM attention! You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Yep, and by writing up a general plot idea and sending it to a DM, they can keep track of it. Otherwise it's likely to be an IRC or IG conversation that is forgotten about the next day.

If it's written up, even if the DM doesnt have time to do it immediately, they may plan it for down the road a bit. Or maybe even incorporate your plot into someone else's and run it together. Lots of possibilities.

These personal events do not have to be for your character, they are not necessarily solo events. They can be for someone else completely or they can be meant to involve a group of people. The choice is yours folks.

So can we like... request you to make a mini-event, in which hundreds of umbrellas roll from the bridges into South Camp, while a mysterious wind whistles the melody to "Wachet auf," (Corale Prelude, by Johann Sebastian Bach) ?

Only if it has something to do with the aforementioned shemales.

If your guild wants to do something, send a PM to the DM you want to do it, and im sure they'll be happy to run it for your guild so long as it is within reason.

IE.. taking over a city.. not within reason.. Going on an expedition, within reason

Useful stuff I like to see in such a PM:

-What your character's doing to forward the plot
-Stuff about the character and why you want the plot
-Who your character is (unless you already have sent us a detailed background!)
