Geez, can we all remember this is a game, and stop trying to make it so "Realistic"? The plants will grow in the same damn place. :k

Because badgers talk and mages can stop time.

I'm sure we can safely say plants won't migrate or anything.

I think the fact that badgers talk and that mages cast timestop is more of an indication that plants will migrate...and talk to you about philosophy before killing you...

Mages dont stop the time, they just cast a ultimative haste spell on them self :P

Besides evryone can make it as he wants that, i have made so far always only a list in form of "plant: locations" and so i knew at once all the locations without that i had to look over a silly map :)

Ok so let me get this striaght. your doing "plant name: location" what are you using as location? coming from someone who so stress's realism I hope its not things like fields of ysgard 1 or fields of ysgard 2. It wouldn't be that realistic since your pc wouldn't know the names of the maps IC. and if your doing it more like "plant name: fields of ysgard" that is a very large area. Maps would seem easier. :D
On a side note I never said that we would pin point the exact spot of the plant. It would be more realistic to show a map of an area and the plants that can be found in that area.
Plus since shadow's light is more than just one person we are capable of doing the job faster than say you walking everywhere looking for them. with just 2 people the amount of time would be cut in half not to mention that with more than one person you are less likely to miss things.

I see more words in a dictionary, east west south north, furthest north , central north are just afew examples. You are not gona tell me that maps drawed area by area are realistic as well ? if you draw in evry tree, evry hill, evry high difference , sure.
And this is not about realism but about feeling. Fantasy feeling. Realism does not have anything to do with fantasy.
Thats why i dont like psions, they were orginaly designed by some idiotic star wars fan and that they are allowed for all races ruins the touch that psionic races like mindflyers and githanki give NWN/DnD and all about it.

If I am not mistaken complaining about that would be like complaining that elves get a dex bonus. Such races are better with those abilities then say a human or kobold. The rules take that into effect. thats why races get bonus's and and negatives isn't it?

In response I will point back to my first post in the thread.
You know if you would like stuff mapped out you should talk to Draeltin or Vildur So'Riatin IC since they have a large part of hala already mapped.
already mapped is the key words so going through and listing what plants can be found in which area's seems pretty simple to me.

Man I love to argue rofl

I gave up maping hala as the first changes came, imagine when you start making beautyful drawings and then evrything gets changed... i blame you for making the word dynamic and adding new contents.. yes i do !

That is why i talked about some kind of audit of plants on hala. Otherwise we are going to keep sending PMs or posting about missing ingredients only for sombody to say they are already there in ....

This probably isn't the right forum to post this in, but it is based mainly around crafting, so meh!

Crafting utensils in shops.

All too often now, when new items are put onto merchants we hear the old 'find out in-game' as to where they are. While this in some respects gets people out and about on the server it's hardly practical from a merchant's perspective.

If the CO get's in new stock, the first thing that's done is that it's advertised. How else would people know what's available without asking individuals or trekking all the way over to the guild area every time?

Now, i can't see why, when NPC merchants get new stock in i.e. a new range of weapons or crafting items, they wouldn't at least put a poster up in their local area to advertise it.

Merchants would hear what people are looking for from tavern conversations etc, so they're hardly likely to get in a batch of wood-chopping axes and then hide them under the counter, when they know people are suddenly all trying to take up carpentry.

I guess in some ways this is a bit of a moan because while all of the new things on the merchants are great, because they're only going into the mod gradually, it's a bit tiresome to have to trudge around every single NPC merchant each time each new item is added.

As i said, something as simple as a poster outside the shop would suffice, just to announce they now have some new products (a note on the tavern boards - before someone misinterprets it )

Again, just a suggestion.

There are distinct reasons why we don't post things like this. The biggest being people tend to take advantage of things. Sure, I can post a list of what merchants have what... and then everytime there is a server reset, x people will be camping that spot to get x cool 1 reset item. It's annoying, and yes it may be aggrevating to you the players not to see these things posted up, but hey... part of the fun of a PW is walking around and finding the new stuff.

But a mining hammer or woodcuter axe ? I would not mind if there would be alot of merhcants selling those but after checking alot of shops and not seeing any it becomes frustrating to keep looking for a crafting tool.

Just wondering.... should I get more than 2 peices of wood from hacking down a tree? Would I get more if I used an actual woodcutters axe?

If not can there please be more trees? Perhaps a few in the forests
