PC Theme Music

Post by Mephistophelina »

I'm afflicted with this terrible disease of the mind, wherein I spontaneously hear music in my head according to the situation. Usually when I'm gaming I have my 7,000+ MP3 list going and I"ll change the song for the mood.

Lately, I've been wondering what everyone's PC's themesongs would be.

I can't decide what Y'lissana's would be. I cringe to think what Xanthalas would say. Probably Livin' La Vida Loca on account of what she puts Rykolyn through, poor guy.

What songs would you pick for your PC's?

Let's see...

For Seamus I probably hear the 'O Fortuna' Movement from 'Carmina Burana' by Carl Orff when I'm off being heroic. (If anyone thinks they don't know it, go watch 'Excalibur' again. You'll know it when you hear it.) For other situations, various bits of the 'Ring Cycle' by Vagner drift in and out of my mind. Just occasionally, to be perverse, my mind lets 'Demolition Man' by the Police slip in when I'm not looking. 8)

For Aria the bard, well, I can't speak for Tremaine, but I'd be willing to bet Mozart's 'Queen of the Night's Aria' from 'The Magic Flute' and the collected works of Clannad are well represented.
It takes a Viking to Raze a Village.

I thoroughly enjoyed the remake of the Lux Aeterna song from the movie Requirem for a Dream that was done for the Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers movie. Very "epic battle" sounding! If anyone wants a listen, check out the tailer for the movie on Youtube, (for those who don't care to watch the whole thing, the song starts at 1:45 in the clip).

I used to run around to the Conan soundtrack, back in the day. Now usually it's a lot of metal stuff, like Slayer. I think im going to start replacing music files :). I ll get back to you about Vil's theme music

I'll have to second Lord Droke. This is a lot harder question then you'd think, lol. Especially when you listen to music styles that are completely opposite to each other. At the moment, I really like: Insomnium - Nocturne, which is just an instrumental/orchestral intro of a metal album. It also fits K'lari, in more ways then one. I'll get back to this tomorrow when I have time to review my list of music, and see what the first real song was that I associated with K'Lari.

It all depends on what I'm doing.

When I'm running around being silly: Toybox or Aqua

Crafting: Disney soundtracks (yeah... "no I just can't wait to be king!" while I'm making Masterwork Slings, I'm such a dweeb) -_-

When I'm sitting around rping: Nothing. I'd rather not be distracted by music or I usually end up typing stuff that usually doesn't make sense

And when I'm bashing monsters or when they're bashing me: Metal

Midnight Syndicate for me. Set the playlist on random of 6 CD's worth of MP3's and you'd be surprised how many of their recordings fit for various situations.

Heh. That's my DMing music when I'm on Abyss! O Fortuna is one of my favorites for marching demons upon the unsuspecting. I also tend to listen to a lot of Mozart's Requiem Mass, a little of Verdi's Dies Irae...

Confutatis! Maledictus! Flammis accribus addictis, voca me cum benedictis.

I figured out Y'lissana's song, too.

She's Always A Woman

by Billy Joel

She can kill with a smile, she can wound with her eyes,
She can ruin your faith with her casual lies
She only reveals what she wants you to see
She hides like a child, but she's always a woman to me.

She can lead to love, she can take you or leave you
She can ask for the truth, but she'll never believe
She'll take what you give her, as long as it's free
Yeah she steals like a thief, but she's always a woman to me.

Oh, she takes care of herself
She can wait if she wants
She's ahead of her time
Oh, and she never gives out
And she never gives in
She just changes her mind.

She'll promise you more than the garden of Eden,
Then she'll carelessly cut you and laugh while you're bleedin'
But she'll bring out the best and the worst you can be
Blame it all on yourself, 'cause she's always a woman to me.

She is frequently kind, and she is suddenly cruel
She can do as she pleases, she's nobody's fool
And she can't be convicted, she's earned her degree
And the most she will do is throw shadows at you
But she's always a woman to me.

After much thought I would have to say it's a toss between Iced Earth's Pure Evil or Travel the Stygian, followed closely by a few select classical peices (Dance Macbre, Ofortuna, various mozart peices), Iron Maiden's Flash of the Blade and The Duelists, and Malmstien's Viking.

Im also replacing my tavern music with the music from the origy scene in Conan.

I know it's alot, but the same song over and over again get's old.

First, a couple theme songs for Soleis because I couldn't resist: "For My Lady" by the Moody Blues, and "All You Need is Love" by the Beatles.

And now for Gildan:

His theme song: "September Song"

When I was a young man courting the girls
I played me a waiting game.
If a maid refused me with tossing curls, oh,
I let that old earth take a couple of whirls
While I plied her with tears in place of pearls
And as time came around she came my way
As time came around she came

But its a long, long while from May to December
And the days grow short when you reach September
And I have lost my teeth
and I'm walkin' a little lame
Hey honey I haven't got the time for any waiting game
And the days turn to gold as they grow few
September, November...

And these few golden days
I'd like to spend 'em with you
These golden days, I'd like to spend 'em with you
And the days dwindle down to a precious few
September, November...
And I'm not quite equipped for the waiting game
I have a little money, and I've had a little pain

And these few golden days, as the days grow so few
These golden days, I'd like to spend 'em with you
These precious golden days, I'd like to spend 'em with you
September song, September song
September song, September song

His battle song: "I Won't Back Down" by Tom Petty

Well I won’t back down, no I won’t back down
You can stand me up at the gates of hell
But I won’t back down

Gonna stand my ground, won’t be turned around
And I’ll keep this world from draggin’ me down
Gonna stand my ground and I won’t back down

Hey baby, there ain’t no easy way out
Hey I will stand my ground
And I won’t back down.

Well I know what’s right, I got just one life
In a world that keeps on pushin’ me around
But I’ll stand my ground and I won’t back down

Hey baby there ain’t no easy way out
Hey I will stand my ground
And I won’t back down
No, I won’t back down
