Dumb monster AI

Post by Gregpooh »

When I first began playin on Hala, I noticed that a monster shot with an arrow would bring all his buddies along to attack the shooter. Lately, it seems only the monster shot will give chase. I know that is how it works in standard NWN scenarios, but I thought the other way was far more realistic and challenging.

Was this change made on purpose, or has a bug creeped into the AI? I remember hearing that a whole bunch of scritpts were deleated at one point. Maybe this is one result?

Just wondering.

Update on this..

The monster spawns on Ysgard exibit the old behavior (ie when one is attacked, all monsters respond). The spawns on Hala exibit the new behavior. (one monster attacked, others stand around stupidly).

Damn, I'd say the Ysgard ones are the smart ones... I wouldn't shoot OR chase Seamus if I had half the chance to do otherwise.

I dont know if such things are controlled by scripts but i've been noticing lately that if you run by a abled caster invisible in that area where you either hear or 'sense' the invisible person that the npc will cast its seeing invisibility or otherwise spell. That right there is pretty neat. So gain one to lose another nifty thing?
