I like to play Tal Vlad with two obscure but favorite songs:

"Odin's Court and Valhalla" by Black Sabbath on their album "Tyr". Ironic, but great music.

Here's a fun and potentially dangerous question for those who know of Noor.

What song would you say is Noor al-Nepirtas' theme song?

Ok... Blame Wolfy for the following few

Lexy to Scel

FALLING
( E M M Y R O S S U M , S T U A R T B R AW L E Y )

What's coming over me I've no control
I hear a voice saying get a hold of yourself,
you seem like someone else I don't know
Where have my senses gone, I lost my way
With every touch you intoxicate
Pull me in, stop making my head spin
I'm losing it
Upside down my feet can't find the ground
My mixed up mind's a blur
I trip on every word

Cause I'm falling, falling fast
Like I always do
Tell me it won't pass
I've everything to lose
Stop me before I go too far
Go on go on keep me falling
Hold my tongue before I say too much
Please don't run I need to know because
I'm gonna let go c'mon catch me
Go on go on keep me falling

You are everywhere inside my head
And I'm all tangled up in your web
So surreal, but I like how it feels, in this reverie.
Just a look and I'm not thinking straight.
I'm addicted I don't wanna wait. I'm letting go.
Of everything that I know, I'm losing it.
Up and down my spine go shock waves now.
Tumbling heels over head. Lost in this maze again.

Cause I'm falling, falling fast.
Like I always do.
Tell me it won't pass.
I've everything to lose.
Stop me before I go too far.
Go on go on keep me falling.
Hold my tongue before I say too much.
Please don't run I need to know because.
I'm gonna let go c'mon catch me.

Go on go on keep me falling.
Falling [For you].
Falling [Catch me I'm].
Falling [Falling for you].
Go on go on keep me falling

And this one is Aria to Scel

LULLABY
( E M M Y R O S S U M , S T U A R T B R AW L E Y, V I N C E P I Z Z I N G A )

Laying alone with the history that made you cold and uncertain inside Careful now, deep breath, the water's still rising
But your silver lining's in sight
When you feel like you're breaking down
And your body's just giving in
And you can't go on broken like this any longer

Close your eyes
Don't you cry
Let the sorrow within you subside
Don't despair
Have no fear
Give your weight to me when you hear this lullaby

You say all seems so wrong with the life that you're living
You're searching for some reason why
You're so scared to trust, you're feeling unworthy
Aching for comfort tonight
When your heart's too sore to beat
And you fear it might never heal
And you feel not even beggars want you
I do

Close your eyes
Don't you cry
Let the sorrow within you subside
Don't despair
Have no fear
Give your weight to me when you hear this lullaby

Close your eyes
Don't you cry
Let the sorrow within you subside
Don't despair
Have no fear
Give your weight to me when you hear this lullaby

Don't you cry
Let the darkness within you feel light
Don't despair
Have no fear
You'll find comfort in me like a child with this lullaby

And well this one I listened to after the last Bardic Event on Arkaz and just had a vision of Aria and Rali singing this song about any guy in general... It's from Roger's and Hammerstein's "Cinderella"

Prunella:
Why should a fellow want a girl like her a frail
and fluffy beauty why can't a fellow ever once prefer a solid girl like me

Esmerelda:
She's a frothy little bubble with a flimsy kind of charm and with very little trouble
I could break her little arm.

Prunella:
Oh, oh why would a fellow want a girl like her so obviously unusual
why can't a fellow ever once prefer a usual girl like me

Esmerelda:
Her cheeks are a pretty shade of pink, but not any pinker than roses

Prunella:
Her skin may be delicate and soft,
but not any softer than a doe's is

Esmerelda:
Her neck is no whiter than a swan's

Prunella:
She's only as dainty as a daisy

Esmerelda:
She's only as graceful as a bird!

Both:
So why is the fellow going crazy?
oh why would a fellow want a girl like her,
a girl who's merely lovely,
why can't a fellow ever once prefer a girl who's merely me

Prunella:
She's a frothy little bubble with a frilly sort of air
And with very little trouble I could pull out all her hair!

Both:
oh why would a fellow want a girl like her, a girl who's merely lovely,
why can't a fellow ever once prefer a girl who's merely me
What's the matter with the man, what's the matter with the man,
what's the matter with the man?!!

Morgan
I have been thinking of Morgan a lot latley (hence my playing her) and have a few songs that make me think about her when I hear them.

1)Shitstorm -Strapping Young Lad
A manic song. Gives the impression of someone who is just managing to cling to some sort of calm

2)King in Crimson -Bruce Dickinson
I imagine Morgan sitting around the camp fire with a group of people, getting more and more worked up about something, but sitting camly. Just as the song gets to 'arise, awake, the king in crimson comes' she leaps up and starts ripping them apart.

3) The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg -Iron Maiden
This is where I think Morgan is at now. A repentant song that indicates some past wrongness.

Lots of metal. I think if anyone is 'metal' it would be Morgan

Grovel.
So... a song for Grovel. The Hall of the Mountain King is a hard one to go past for theme music. Im liking 'Fake Mexican Tourist Blues' by Kevin Ayers for Grovel. A sample of the lyrics...

Hey, mister, would you like my sister
Her name is juanita,
I think. you'd like to meet her.

Malik
Malik is a hard one. I think perhaps Puritania -Dimmu Borgir.
Grovel puts the P in swimming pool.
Small in stature, large in power, narrow of focus and wide of vision

A song for Ro and Morgan

On A Saturday - Keith West

http://www.last.fm/music/Keith+West
(I think there is a link to it from this page)

I thought about Eternal Flame, but it didn't feel right. This one is much happier and has a bouncy 'Morgan' feel to it

One for Rali and Lexy; I heard it the other day on the radio and it reminded me of them:

Ingrid Michaelson, "Take Me The Way I Am"

Rudiki! :D
It's one of my favorites to listen to when I play Rali, and it's perfect for them.

Okay, I'm in a weird mood and thinking of theme songs.

For Pandorus: "Nemesis", by Shriekback.

If anyone has a character/wants to create a character for sheer creepiness factor, I'll recommend

Was in the car and heard this song and thought to myself... this reminds me of some happenings/characters on Hala. You'll have to guess who though.

I kissed a girl... [link]

(There are some great song pairings in this thread.)

This is for Gil and his girls:

The Book of Love, by Peter Gabriel:

The book of love is long and boring
And no one can lift the damn thing
It's full of charts and facts and figures
And instructions for dancing
But I
I love it when you read to me
And you
You can read me anything

The book of love has music in it
In fact that's where music comes from
Some of it is just transcendental
Some of it is just really dumb
But I
I love it when you sing to me
And you
You can sing me anything

The book of love is long and boring
And written very long ago
It's full of flowers and heart-shaped boxes
And things we're all too young to know
But I
I love it when you give me things
And you
You ought to give me wedding rings
Gildan: "I'm not as good as I once was, but i'm as good once as I ever was."

"I'm stubborn as those garbage bags that time cannot decay; I'm junk, but I'm still holding up this little wild bouquet." -Leonard Cohen, "Democracy"
