Don't panic and try to escape server transitioning...

Okay, here’s the deal. I was not paying much attention when Jay server transitioned, was thinking whether to do some mining and take a break or just take a break, and so clicked on the “out” of the cabin before I noticed an emote that the lady was lying beaten down on the floor. I dislike CvC but made a few prayers, drank the milky coffee to hasten then, and went back down. But because I dislike CvC I was enough on edge to make two silly mistakes.

First silly mistake was forgetting the “in” and “out” cabins on the Airship are separate areas so of course Jay did not see the people. Should have waited for them to come out.

Second and more serious silly mistake was panicking. I thought “they are not here, how did they get past me?” and clicked to go back on deck…and got the server transition message…and realised my first silly mistake…and panicked and clicked on the escape hatch to try to avoid the server transition.

Jay still transitioned but he transitioned from where that hatch took him. He also found himself dominated and I think with a message saying he should be on the other server. It took a while of logging into either server, being auto-booted, realising that waiting a few minutes before next trying to log into the “right” server stopped Jay from being dominated, server-transitioning and being dominated and booted without a “you will be booted” message…

But eventually Jay did manage to be logged in without being dominated and to run into the server-transition that got him back to where he had wanted to be and where he’d have been had I not panicked and had just let him transition and then sent him back again. Naturally the people and kidnapped person had long since gone and naturally the pair of evil (expletive)s Jay asked said they had seen nothing.

So warning, don’t panic and click the hatch to try to avoid server transitioning. Not only will it give you several minutes of needless fiddling about but it might also destroy your character’s chance to do something special. Likely because of my stupidity the IC is Jay ignored a person in distress for the whole flight across the Great Divide and then walked off the ship (rather than the OOC of transition…click…hang on?). Let your character transition and then come back.

dragging someone beaten and bleeding across the bergs attracts attention and really works best if a DM is involved. I'm fairly certain one was overseeing this case. So, if you see something like this again, and want to follow, don't hesitate to send a request to the DM channel.

As for the two evil %@*^'s you asked, if its any consolation we couldn't have told you anything useful anyway

Noticed in my logging in and out and back and forth that Nastr0nd was logged in as a DM, so one was there.
