Help me pick a laptop
I'm quite computer illerate (my grammar sucks too )
I'm pretty bad for comming on here or especially on MIRC asking for computer help which people go out of their way to help me.
Penguin, Halfling, LP77, Sarakin, Niko, Arkon, Mark, others who's names escape me (sorry) and especially Dyers who is constantly sends me links to the haks that I have to download time and time again because my laptop keeps crashing.
Thanks guys.
Good news. After taking my laptop into the store where I got it for the 6th time since feb of this year they finally decided to do the right thing and give me a new one.
I'm not sure exactly what I'm getting or being offered, their replacing the old ones value though since it's almost 3 years old (Paid $3999 for it at the time) the new one I'm getting should be a little better.
Further to that, they said if I put more money into it I could upgrade it even more which I plan to do.
My old one was a Toshiba 5200 satalite series. 1 gig of ram, 40 gigs of memory space, I think it was a P3 2.2ghz processor or something like that.
Can anyone reccomend what I should try and upgrade to? Whats something good I should add on?
Is 2.2ghz a good speed or should I go faster, is 1 gig of ram enough or should I get another one put in, should I ask them about dual video cards or whatever that is (seen it on an alien wear laptop I was looking at). Whats a good gaming video card?
SInce its the stores return policy I might even be able to get something other than toshiba. Whats some other good laptop brandnames?
Website seems to be down (ironic eh) so I'll edit the link to the store in later.
Cheers and thanks

This is what I have for two possible choices so far

and
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/prodde ... 267&catid=
I use the laptop to pretty much replace my desktop. I travel a lot so I'm using it to play MP3s and music videos. Games (I'm noticing I can't play newer games with my current laptop) watching DVD movies, using it for office crap like writting patrol reports lesson plans and spread sheets.
Games is a biggie.

The laptops are similar but the T2500 is the better spec. It is also lighter, which is something to consider.

Just looked trough the specs of your labtops and after what i can see the cheap one is CLEARLY the best one. You get a much better grafic card but less harddisk storage...however that can be easly fixed if you at some point byes an extarnel harddrive. I have a laptop too since im so much out sailing and i bought an external harddrive on 300 G...so bye the cheap one..

And it doesn't matter how drink a coke! It's the fact that you're drinking a coke that counts.

My photoshop skills? Thanks I'm glad SOMEONE noticed.
I was gonna photo shop a picture of arkon with a brokeback mountian picture but I have a feeling he wouldn't see the humor, and I wouldnt see my characters again.

There's already a picture of Arkon with Andrew from the meet in April.T'Holoth Shadowborn wrote:My photoshop skills? Thanks I'm glad SOMEONE noticed.

Also, when drinking tooth staining beverages such as coffee and Coca Cola, it's best to use a straw.
