I am calling out to anyone that maybe be able to help me out here. I've recently helped my brother reinstall NWN on his pc so he could start playing again. I've got it all installed with no trouble right on the C drive and added the haks and updated it. The isssue I'm having is getting it to run fullscreen at high resolution. I'll list the componants of the pc and if you think you may have an idea what to do please let me know. I can start the game and go through the selection screens till I choose a character, but once I click on the the server to go to the screen flashed and gives a message it doesnt suport the resolution.

how to configure a newer computor to run NWN
Moderator: Top Team
Highest resolution I get in my list is 1280x1024 and when I tried editing nwn.ini to go to higher (tried a higher non-widescreen and tried 1920x1080) the game just dropped down to 800x600. So not sure you can get above 1280x1024 (or 1280x720 rather for same widescreen aspect ratio).
nwn.ini has a line under display options that should read FullScreen=1 for fullscreen (or FullScreen=0 for windowed mode).
If setting to 1280x720 and making sure nwn.ini says FullScreen=1 doesn't work I have no ideas.

run the config utility and set the resolution to something low. Hopefully that gets you in game and you can use the options to change the settings from there.
Also, try setting it to run in a window
How do I run NWN in a window? (Courtesy of Neverwinter Vault.)
Here are the steps:
1. Open up your NWN.ini file in a text editor.
2. Under the [Display Options], make sure your setting for the game resolution is less than your desktop setting. For example, if you run your desktop at 1024x768, then change this to Width=800 and Height=600. If you don't make it less, it won't work.
3. Add this line again under the [Display Options] section: allowWindowedMode=1
4. Change the FullScreen from 1 to 0, like this: FullScreen=0
That's it. Also Popovod mentioned that if you hit maximize in the window it will take you to full screen mode. If you want to get back to the windowed mode from here it's ALT+Enter.

Do you have 480 listed twice because of SLI? if you are running SLI you may have to turn one card off because NWN was not desigined with SLI in mind, the last i looked there where no fixes for it, that was a while ago, try turning off one card and giving it a go..
Also last I heard the 400 series 500 series Nvidia where not kind to NWN due to a driver oversight issue ( they didn't include a certain Open GL in the driver) I hopped that would be long fixed by now but nwn is an old game, so don't quote me on that.....
