In the Prison part of the area all the magic is turned completely off, so if, and in my case WHEN, you die you cannot be raised by a party member.
Ever tryed pick the corpse up and carry somewhere you can raise the person ?
once you pick up the corpse, it is no longer raisable, AFAIK.
Does anyone have any detailed explanation of how this works? I tried picking up someone's corpse and moving it, but once I dropped it on the ground and tried raising it, I was unable to. I got some message saying the corpse couldn't be raised (I forget the way it was worded).

If it doesn't work here, I dunno why. It worked on avlis, last I played on avlis, but ofcourse that was a few updates ago. Forgive me if my information is incorrect.
As far as the message goes, it gives that message even if you don't move the corpse. The important thing is to make sure the person your raising, knows they are not to move while you do it. If they are running around in the halls, it won't work.

I usually just stand around until I'm asked if I'm ready to get raised ...then I tell the person that I need to rest first and then give them the ok. The only time a raise fails for me is if I'm running around*coughs*or taking my death out on the poor petitioners*cough* .
Eh, keep in mind, if your running around like a crazy cat, and a raise dead get's wasted because of it, the raiser may not be inclined to do it again, as scrolls aint cheap.
