server links.....

i got today a copap group mail that they are rethinking the central portal system since it did not work out (finly someone figured out after 7 months).
Are there perhaps any linking plans totairis or avlis from hala ? or any rumours about the other currently hala linked servers...

You can get to Avlis from Hala now, and vice versa. It's just a long trip.

Hala is getting pretty big. Is somehow splitting the server in two an option?
Perhaps one part devoted to the island of hala and those areas and the other devoted to the 'mainland' and infinate staircase?

While i find lag non existant, would this be bennificial to the world or does it create too many problems?

This is already in the works. The current plan, as soon as i figure out how to do it is to split hala into two NWN Instances. Hala, the island and such, and Ysgard, the mainland.

If and when we do this, the Great Bridge will be the server cutoff point. Transitions for players should be mostly seemless as there will be no need for a bic transfer, only for a player transfer to the new server as they will be on the same machine and thus use the same servervault, etc.

More info as this developes.

Is it a one way trip? If it is i would not want to leave hala for what could be months before they get to portals from avlis working (if they ever do).

The link between arkaz and tairis was only a test portal to see if they vaultstar works, there are no plans on linking those two worlds, some people must just like to sent out people looking for it, thinking that people have to much time for this shit...

eh and where did i do that ? there is a difference between informations and opinion. Look at what dune posted, evryone in COPAP keeps posting something else, apearently evryone knows something else and its all wrong in the end. The old links were broken and since then its the old story we are linked but no one can use those portals. If Orleron would report things to community as they without to embellish it then there would be no one geting annoyed and frustradted... but he has to upkeep his psedo company somehow after all.

Searching for a portal based solely on an Out of Character post on another world's forum fits right under the umbrella known as "metagaming." Please stop.

My favorite example of this type of metagaming is when people were calling Tairis "Travellers." The word "Travellers" was never used In Game, ICly. Yet one or two metagamers started searching for a portal to what they called "Travellers" based on OOC information, and thus the improper name spread ICly.
