Use it ICly.. most people wouldn't run around randomly using detect evil on everyone they meet. Most people wouldn't even think about it unless there was a reason to think about it.

Just use common sense with it.

Leaning strongly towards Odin, but Odin can be a bit of a nasty bugger which will put my character at odds with the clergy, fun fun fun.

decidet myself between tyr and thor.. tyr seemed abit boring and thor seems to have paladins as worshipers in description so went after him.. and there are those nice electrical weapons .. and hammers :D

although since someone mentioned it, i am thinking now when hearing Thor of a small grey humanoid inside of a starship.

Alingment wise Odin accepts LG, but his domains aint all that 'paladinish' (War, wisdom, poetry, knowledge). Striding out into the wilderness to bring poetry to the forces of evil...

Forseti, Heimdall and Tyr look to be the best bet all though Heimdall only has LN as worshipers.

It would be fun to make a character and have them 'discover' a deity, but then I would have to sacrifice paladin lvs *sniff*.

Paladins of Raziel and Sealatiel aren't too shabby :)

So you can use the information gained from detect evil ic'ly? As long as there is a reason for you to be detecting in the first place ic'ly. Right?
And yes Tyr is the best :D

Yes, but as has been stated, only when you would IC'ly have a reason to use it.

Reasons to use use it do not include such things as 'because they were dressed all in black' or 'because they had an evil voice set'. Use common sense and all should be fine.
