From Ysgard to Hala and Back

Ursadin started on Ysgard and spent a lot of time there before finding his way to Hala. Once finding Hala, he spent some time there before deciding he needed to return to Bastion. I then learned that the transition from Ysgard to Hala is different from the reverse transition. Is there an In Game reason for giving a selection of locations to a character transitioning one way, but not the other. Teleporting to your selection seems unrealistic compared to the transition that just puts you where you ought to be geographically. I did not worry about this too much, but then I reread the rules, specifically the rule against server hopping, and realized that using the selection to go where you want seems a lot like server hopping. Thanks for any feedback on this.

This can occur when the server you're portalling to has been reset since you were last there. On the Ysgard side, there's an option to start on the Great Bridge to Ysgard and we'll sort out the same for the Hala side.

As far as server hopping is concerned, our biggest issue is with people just logging out from wherever they are rather than heading to the bridge and portalling over like they should.

That's not intended. The Start Area is supposed to be only for when your last known location can't be found in the DB. Basically, it's an error that you end up in the Start Area when coming across the bridge to Ysgard. The Start Area acts as the "error catcher".

Best thing to do is just select to start in the "Great Great Bridge" and ICly act like your char never saw the Start Area.
