Difficulty moving over form Avlis
Difficulty moving over form Avlis
I have tried to bring my Avlis character over for a couple of weeks now and keep getting this message:
Your account is invalid. This is being reported to a DM
...and then it boots me. I have a character here on Hala already, and would like to bring over my Avlis character.
For a very brief time, during the time when the portal was down earlier this week - I managed to get her on Hala and wandered around Mirtho a bit with her - no problem, but now I am getting this 'Account Invalid' message again and cannot seem to do anything.
I have tried re-portaling from Alvis a few times, I have saved my bic there and here...and still I cannot play here with my Avlis character.
Would someone please advise me what to do, I have posted on the Avlis forum too, but no help from that end.
Thank you

I am still unable to play with my monk character from Avlis, so may I make a suggestion?
Can I, or can you, recreate the character and have someone move all the info in the 'bic" (SP?) to the new char? meaning her inventory, the XP and her gold. I know this is possible and that you are doing this for other characters, so could someone please help me out with Seron?
If it would help I can even supply a new gamespy name.
I know the bic exists as I was able to play with her over for that short time.
Is this do-able please?

The answer to that is no, LP, Seron made it over to Hala.
The last time I re-tried this from Avlis (ever the optomist!) Seron was dumped back in the Start Area of Deglos, not at the portal location, and I had to get a DM there to zap me back to the portal, where I did the move again.
I have re-portal serveral times from Deglos now, but always with the same result this end.
The funny thing is that I was able to play with Seron on Hala from my home computer during the brief spell that the portal to Avlis was closed, about a month ago, if that give you any clues.
I was always able to play with Seron on Avlis, or Redda on Hala, (same GameSpy name) from the same computer at home until I portalled over. Now, another wierdness....I can play Seron on Hala when I log in from a computer that is not mine - in other words, computers that are not my home computers.
I tested this today and can still access Seron from a different location computer (I did a 'save character' just to make sure the bic is up-to-date).
Please let me know if there is anything I can do or change to help with this.

From everything that I can put together about this, the problem seems to be with your computer. Why? I don't know why it does it, but seems the case.
As for transfering to another gamespy account or recreating and having all items transfered over, since Seron is an Avlis native character that would have to be something approved by the Avlis team, and any sort of transfers such as this are not easy transfers as any info that is stored in the Database is not transfered over. Also I do not know that this would fix your problem due to the character still being perfectly playable on other computers.I was always able to play with Seron on Avlis, or Redda on Hala, (same GameSpy name) from the same computer at home until I portalled over. FYI: I have cut and paste the following response from my Avlis forum post: Thanks again, everyone, for your efforts on my behalf
Seron, perhaps if you could ask the Hala Team to email the Bicfile to me at nighthawk4@avlis.org we can get your character rebuild to match its stats - or maybe even try it out to see if it corrupt.
Please note that it must come directly from one of the Hala Team, just to avoid any problems. No offence. Wink
Edit - I have PMed Lady Phoenix to ask her to send the file directly to me, so just hold on and we will let you know when we have progress.
