Drow Languages

Post by Xanthalas »

Arkon, Trinity, Correct me if I am wrong, But this note is intended to educate.

When you see Drow speaking.

"Vel'Bol, Siyo, Vith Dos." Etc. That is their spoken language,
((Some players, just emote *Speaking Drow* and type english though.))

When you see

Rykolyn:" "
And then in the Server window, "Rykolyn Rilyndar is peaking Drow"
That is a -silent- hand language.
And supposedly pretty subtle.

So unless you're facing the person, and paying attention, I doubt much would be noticable. If watching them, Just assume some signalling is going on, Proabbly incomprehensible, but clearly a language of sorts.

It is not spoken, and therefore not heard.

Haven't had issues yet. But clearing that up before someone gets too confused.

am waiting as my life goes by,
and die because I do not die.

You are correct, tho there a few special cases were non drow have these tokens through RP from R/L years of experiance with interacting with drow, and read the hand gestures,to avoid any problems if you wish not to openly give hand signals I'd suguest you pull said person aside and gesture or make it clear through an emote that no one else can see it.
