Booted at login

Portled to Ysgard from Deglos, got a PC hide, was frozen, and then got booted. Tried to relog in a couple hours later, same result, with server error message invalid PC, reported to DM's.

Self-fixed, server hopped back to Avlis. Won't try this again soon.

This could be several things. If your haks aren't all properly in place and updated, portaling will often cause your system to lock up. Make sure you get all the recent haks at http://www.ysgardhala.org/viewtopic.php?t=4010 and then the update for the Hala hak at http://www.ysgardhala.org/viewtopic.php?t=3308 .

The servers can get flukey also if it's A) been a while since reset or B) gets cranky for whatever gods-forsaken reason in the Multiverse. A request for a reset on either (preferably both) sides is often a great help. Also, if you're able to, jumping back through and trying again will often clear up those problems.

There's been a few odd issues with portalling lately that I believe LP77 is working on and may not be client side at all. Patience is advised.

Need Character and gamespy names when these types of reports are issues, as well as a full description of messages and stuff given so that I can actually look into these issues and get them fixed.

Ah, well, my alt portals just fine, so I assumed it was a changeling thing, but other changelings can portal too.... so I'll mark it up to the Internet gods and try again later.

This sounds like another problem in which I have been tracking and trying to fix, and requires a lot of work on my end prior to getting your character able to portal if it is the same problem.

I have created a new Character named "-=Nira Kinbraning=-" Under my Gamespy Account "NingTheMerciless". Character Roll-up went fine but when I tried to bring her into the actual world she locked up and displayed this message "This character is invalid: FAIL - no file found" then in the next line "You will be booted in 5 min." {the message appeared in yellow text in the lower right text window} The lock-up allowed me to call for help on the DM channel but no-one was around to help at the time. I just could not move my character in any way. I logged out and tried again, the second time I got as far as the Starlight Inn before freezing. Since she is Just First Level I guess I can make up yet another version of her. ( I have two other ones that I consider a waste since the heads I picked don't display right - I guess have to stop using CEP heads)

Hope this additional evidence helps you find a fix.

Don't use odd characters in names, such as =. Simple as that.

OK, I've played on other servers where lots of people had odd characters in their names and it never caused any problem there. I am not surprised though that it might in some places. NWN has such a diverse community and so much fan created content it must be a real nightmare to contemplate running a server which includes any unofficial content possibly including scripts from god only knows who.
