Spam and board preferences

BY the by, your preferences for the board are set to always show email address by default, so since registering I'm getting volumes of daily spam, I'd assume from spider bots that have seen the email address from it being set to visible.

I'm so accustomed to board defaults always being for privacy of ones email address, I missed that on registering - one of the admins might consider changing that at some point so others aren't caught out.

I registered a few days earlier; and I doubt that I set my E-Mail to privacy. Still; I have recieve 0 spam e-mails.

I just created a test account and this is indeed the case...

I am looking into how to change the default for this now.

I have made a change to the forum settings that has changed the default e-mail privacy setting to No.

If you are already registered, this may not have affected your account. You will have to manually change it to no. Future registrations should automatically have it set to no.
