This time; when heading out on the 3 hours drive to get across the state lines and to their house ... 1/2way there ... I started losing electrical power. The headlights dimmed to the point that I could not see if I even had them on ... the voltmeter drops to 0 ... (this was before the clocks changed by an hour). So; I pull into the nearest town off the interstate. And .... it is 1815 .... all the auto services have just closed up. Best that anyone can do is look at it in the morning. So; I walk down the road (still in February; mind you) to the nearest hotel to spend the night. Get up in the morning; and deal with things there; then continue on the way.
Come back home; and then find the refrigerator/freezer dies on me at the house here. Just stops making cold air. Totally. So; off I go to find a new one. And; of couorse ... the applinace store has a two day delivey wait. And; the model wanted won't fit in the house becuase the house is old and has all the cabinets on the wall hanging down so far that we have only 65 1/2 inches of space from floor to cabinet bottom. There is only one refrigerator model short enough to fit that space. All the rest are 66 inches or higher. So; I missed out on what sounds like a wonderful time last night while dealing with a dead refrigerator and trying to find someplace to put all the perishable foodstuffs ... and getting rid of those that had already went bad. And now ... I sit around and wait for a new one to be delivered. At least its not summer time; and I could set the persishables outside and let them stay cold that way.
And; still not employed either ... so getting hit with all this really bites.
