Gone for a week - Heading to Texas.. (we're back!)

We will be AFK for a week starting on Monday: the 10th is our 10 year anniversary! 8)

We have decided to head to Texas to get out of town, visit grandparents and enjoy some good hiking/camping. We will be passing south through Oklahoma City(ish) and ending up about an hour and a half north of Dallas. We were curious to ask those of you who may live/visit the area ...

.....what are your recommendations on things along the way that we should see, visit, do, or good places to hike in the less then 15 mile range? 8)


On a slightly unrelated note, this weekend RL is very busy, and we will be also be packing, etc.. so my online time will be spotty at best. We will try to make it to events, etc, but if I/we am/are missing - that is why! Will be back again more after the 15th. 8)

Belated post: Grand Canyon is awesome; you will love it! Was through there once when there was a forest fire; never will forget the sight. Never hiked in Texas, though. Happy anniversary!

We are back! Got in last night.. boy.. lots to catch up on now! :lol:

The drive to Arizona (21 hours) was really lovely, and the Grand Canyon was awesome! :shock: *huge rave* .. we will be going back again someday!


The drive from there to Texas was .. hot.. :lol: (26 hours.. 35 if you count sleep time..) .. but it was great to see the Grandparents! :D

The 12 hour drive home seemed really.. short.. :lol: :lol: :lol:

Will see about a few pictures at some point. 8)
