My lovley little kitten has been struck by a car and killed I will miss that playfull little bugger.
So. If you have a pet, give them a big hug right now.

You have my sympathies. I've not been looking forward with any enthusiasm to the day when I start letting my two kittens out, but I know they'd not be as happy being indoor-only cats.
They would be just as happy. They don't know what they are missing. And some of what they are missing is feline aids, territorial fights, wild animals, loose dogs, cars and crazy people. Our cats are indoor-only cats, and they are happy cats. Saves a whole lot of worry and it's cheaper and the cats live longer so you get to love them longer; keep 'em in.

My condolences I know how heartbreaking it is to lose a beloved pet. Once I get back home I'll give all four of my cats a big hug.
And yeah, not to get into an indoor cat/outdoor cat debate, but cars is a major reason 3 out of my 4 are indoor cats. That, and some evil person shot my now-deceased Calico with a pellet gun. There were pieces of metal near her spine that could never be removed.
I am so very sorry! I wish there were something I could do to help.
(Everyone: Try keeping your cats inside. If you have an outdoor cat, try a month keeping it indoors. Once you've heard the screams of a catfight outside at night, and felt the warm comfortable feeling of knowing that it was not YOUR cat screaming, you will never go back.)
I know my kittens would not be as happy as indoor cats because of the determination that are showing to get outside and how jealous they look when I let my older cat out.
In principle though I must agree about indoors-only cats as a little black cat I had managed to give me a lot of worry and had I resisted her "feeling better, start letting me out again" pleas I'd likely still have her.
I'm sorry to hear about your loss! It's never easy to lose a pet. *HUGS*
I can't say what we've done differently, but our cats have never shown more than a mild interest in going outside. They love the windows but avoid the doors.
