Just to add to this a little,

First, don't break the gentleman's agreement in a DM event. It's disrespectful to the DM and the other players. In fact, I do recall a case of a player getting banned for looting (as well as being a top of the line asshole) during a big event.

Second, if a DM catches you breaking the gentleman's agreement at any other time, you can expect them to get involved by bringing in any nearby NPC's.

Why are these guidelines and not hard and fast rules?

Because most of the time when it is broken its unintentional. The offender doesn't know/has forgotten/gotten carried away. Unlike griefing, duping, and many other rules, breaking the Gentleman's agreement usually isn't deliberate.

In the end it all comes down to being respectful of those around you.

Final word on the GA.

DM Intervention. This is most likely only going to occur in the following instances:

1. DM events where the GA Violation has an impact on the progress of the event.

2. Times in which the Violator is so far out of the range of the player violated that there is little to nothing the person can do about it.

3. Excessive GA Violators. If you are known to consistantly, constantly break the GA, expect a DM to get involved.

4. We feel like jerking your chain a bit.

Ways a DM might get involved include the following:

1. Bringing 1 or more angry NPCs against the violator.

2. In the case of Bigsby's, the DM may remove the spell from the person it was cast on.

3. In the case of excessive GA Violators.. it's my choice.

If you are a trouble maker, it may be the straw that breaks the back of my normal leniency. I may vault jail you, I may ban you. Depends on the mood I'm in.

If you are not normally someone who we have problems with, then likely we will just warn you about it and tell you to read up and clean up. Continuing to do this after a warning constitutes ignoring instruction from a Team member and will be dealt with in other ways.

For the record:

I personally don't like (and won't use) Timestop + offensive spells.

Feel free to harm me. While saying this could get me pwnd, I don't mind it or feel griefed if you beat me up with it. If you still don't want to use it... I certainly won't try to convince you otherwise. :P

In regards to subdual mode (since I didn't see it on here.)

I personally do not use subdual mode unless I IC'ly am not wanting to kill the person, just subdue them and/or beat them senseless, but not to death.

If I IC'ly have the intent to kill someone, not just injure them, I will have subdual mode turned off. I keep it as IC as possible.

I'm a big fan of the GA, used it for a very long time.

See my other CvC stuff here

And my favorite quote of all time: "WrathOG777: This is a roleplaying game. There is no such thing as winning or losing. Only playing."
