Hello!
Hey, you probably recognize me from Avlis, I'm CheezDoodleS.
How do I sign up to become an Apprentice DM here?
I haven't played much on Hala, but I kind of like the server.
Thanks!!
Anne-Li

That's what i thought when i read it ... might want to come and play a little more before asking to become a DM straight away. Knowing the players and the gameworld isn't a luxury as a DM ...T'Holoth Shadowborn wrote:I haven't played much on Hala, but I kind of like the server.

Everyones busy for the hollidays.
While I'm not a part of the team, as far as i've seen the staff here always accepts applications for Dm positions. Perhaps a little patience on your behalf would do you well.
While I am not aware of the criteria the staff uses to pick new staff members, using common sense I would suggest they atleast have ONE of the points below.
1. Spend a little time playing in the world getting to know your way around and the general histories and plotlines, concept of the world.
2. Contribute more to the message forum than 2 posts.
3. Be patient with a busy staff
4. Be clearly able to keep OOC/real life feelings and emotions away from the game.
5. Want to "really become a DM on HALA" and not just "want to really become a DM on a copap world".
What i mean by my 5th point is, when considering a character for the guild I belong to, I want that player to want to join THAT guild specifically. Not just apply to join for the sake of being in "a guild". I trust you see the point i'm attempting to make.
Again this is just the point of view from a fellow player. I wouldn't dream of applying as a DM to a world where I had less than half of those points covered, let alone none.
Just an opinion.

I always figured humanoids who spent their time away from the sun would have their skin turn white.
Useless fact
In ancient india orhpans were taken into dark caves and lived there for years upon years. Because they didn't go out into the sun, their skin turned stark white. They were made to sniff alcohol which gave their nose a huge red bulbous look. The alcohol (mixed with some beatings) would also kill their braincells making them act somewhat retarded and move with jerky movements. Finally the sides of their mouths were caturized so it looked like they had perminate smiles. They were then sold into circus's and became what we know as modern day clowns.
There you have it. No sun = white skin not black

You accomplished what by being nasty?
Counter-random-factlet for T'holoth: Drow are not dark skinned because they live underground. It's because they're cursed. Generally in fantasy white=good, black= evil. Inane but true.
