Items Changing their names

For some reason some of my items have changed names.

I noticed many of the scrolls in my possession changed names too. They still cast the right spells when you try to activate them though.

It was another character, an Alt I don't use very much. The scrolls still worked they all just had the same name; Gust of wind. I checked the scrolls Seamus has in his possession. They're all still named correctly. Obviously, he cant cast anything, but if I pull up the radial menu for the scrolls the names of the attached spells are all correct.

Aria's inventory appears to be fine. I will check once again when I log her in again. Peter's inventory has many items renamed and I will list them here.

i just checked Coran shes got several renamed items

important to coran, would like fixed

mantra of the CFAS - Port Llast
curative key - Doss Lute
2 X stage claw - broken dagger
Celstial Sanctified robe - adept's tunic
tnashi feyfern - austruth harp

not really important to get fixed

potions of bull str - ale
amulet of lasting enchantments - adamantine
ring of water (ice?) control - ring of crimson
tiger eye (gems) - fire opal
certain cut gems are now - ruby and sappire
acid gobblet (unknown real name) - austruth harp
mirror of flaming image - deck of hazards
all nek-ro-chew candy - Linun tokens

if i find more ill let you onw, its been suggested this is only effecting 'custom races" so ill chrck frin later

Leave gamespy and character names here in this thread and I will work towards getting this fixed, for those who want things fixed.

A ton of his stuff got changed. If it has to be done bit by bit, here's the items I actually care about-- the plot items for which the name actually means something

I'm not worried about other changes, I can live with them.

Needs fixing:
(wrong name - right name)
"Helm of Darkness"- Avenger of Dru'El Helm
"Composite Longbow +3"- Avenger of Dru'El Bow
"Pot Helmet"- Shemathen'le'Yeritath Battle Helm
"Adept Tunic"- Dru'El Holy Robes

Rollback on Bic okay if needed, these items are important enough. There should be save files from the day before and I don't believe he's gotten xp since the last time he logged on before the switch.

I noticed 2 items renamed to things significantly more powerful than the item actually is. I don't care about the descriptions, but if someone would use the renamer on them I would appreciate it.

PM me with your character names, the items that were changed, and what they should be called/descriptions. If they are pallette I items I will just replace them, if not I will get about changing the names.

Well one DM went and changed the names back by hand, but in doin so erased all the right descriptions and told me i would have to wait for LP to get back. Some the items were plot rewards (suki's cloak from the hala mindflayer plot, and her glass cherries from the cherry festival on avlis) so they had the DM name /world info /reason for reward info. I will go ahead and send you the list though no clue on the right descriptions.

When LP did the restore for Peter, she did it from one of our old bic files. Not sure if this information helps.

yeah thats how they fixed Coran, since then though LP had computer issues and the DM that did a temp fix for Suki (renamed the items but lost all the descriptions) told me to wait til LP was back on.
