We (Seamus, myself and my mom) have almost finished putting up our new tool shed in the back. Sounds like you are having as much fun as we are.

Good Books To Read :

The Fionavar Tapestry by Guy Gavriel Kay (a series of books; actually)

Hunters of the Red Moon (i forget the author)

Some of the few books that even after 20 years; I still remember reading; and would gladly re-read.

In all seriousness Rudi, nice to see you travel around to visit your loved ones, shows alot of your character and I hope the ones that are lucky enough, see that and find joy with your being by them.

Update:

Memo to Dad: Your gutters are NOT windowboxes! Kinda scary when the stuff in the gutters comes out in one long tangled rope of roots and dirt.

I'll be leaving the day after tomorrow to start the drive home, and will be back home the 27th, and back online the 28th, after the glad reunion.

Passion (the dog) managed to scratch her cornea, but after 10 days of eye drops 3 times daily she is doing great. She has been an angel and we have hiked everywhere and Dad keeps asking her how she would like to stay and be his doggie.

I have won against the blackberry vines, but not without battle scars! Still much yardwork to do, though.

Memories of my Mom are everywhere, which is tough. Her sister looks and sounds like her, and her brother looks and sounds like my Granddad, who Gildan is heavily based on. I miss them both every day.

Have been very busy. Got over to the coast and walked on the beach; that was great. The wild rocky west-coast beaches. More memories. Hearing family stories, some familiar, some not, all important. I need a tape recorder.

Great to spend time with Dad. We read Terry Pratchett's "Thud" aloud and are working on his "Making Money". Highly recommended, both. I have been madly in love with Commander Vimes forever.

And writing, writing, writing. I miss you guys, and the game, and the internet, and Akai, and the cats. Hope everyone's well. Lexy and Gil WILL be back! No time to answer any PMs, but I did read them, and will answer soon's I can. No time to read the forums, either; maybe on the way home if we get motels with Wi-Fi.

A brief hello from Lincoln, Nebraska. Drove all night last night; very tired. Stopped to see a piece of the original Oregon Trail, still visible after 150 years; very cool. Passion was more impressed with the ground squirrel holes, though.

Now reading aloud "The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire" by Gibbon and "The Language of the Blues" by Debra Desalvo; both very good. Home soon!
