Sorry for the late notice, but will have to move this on a week.
Apparently my car didn't like Sophie getting all the attention for being ill, so that's decided to break down on me too!
((company car at least, so no additional expense))

General update... Sarah was taking Alex up today while I had the grandson... her car died on the way there (head gasket). So yes, that's two cars in two days. We clearly both pissed something off in a previous life.
However, minor silver lining, I remembered I'm insured on my dad's car (he lives in Spain most of the time so his car is free) so we're hoping for a clear journey tomorrow!
Sophie's platelets have dropped back to a dangerously low level, so we're determined to get up there by hook or by crook at least for moral support.

Rather than keep moving it on, i'm going to put it on hold for now.
We're hoping there will be more positive news by the end of this week as she's receiving an additional type of treatment now which suppresses her immune system (and thus slows the production of the anti-bodies that are actually harming her).
She's still on full treatment with tranfusions but the drop in her platelets levelled off again and they've started to rise again, all-be-it much slower this time, so everything's just day by day.

Update...
She seems to be responding well to the additional treatment and while she has still dropped a couple of times, her platelets rose yesterday even with a transfusion.
If they stabalise and rise again with either less or no transfusion, she could possibly be discharged early next week and only have to go back in as an out patient.
All in all things are slowly looking up, but still one day at a time!

Firstly, thank you for all the well wishes!
Sophie is finally home again and her platelet levels are holding stable at the moment so things are looking better!
To give you an idea of the physical aspect of this condiction, she's been signed off work for 4 months, purely for recovery purposes - bearing in mind the actual symptoms of the condition itself are now past, but according to the doctors she would likely collapse from exhaustion within an hour of trying to do anything.
Makes you realise just how fragile we are sometimes.
But, what does this mean? It means that other than a few out-patient visits and some running about over the next week, I should actually be able to find both the time and more importantly, concentration to harrass you horrible lot again soon!
So... provided nothing else rears its ugly head, next event:
11th October, 7pm gmt!

Sooo glad to hear things are better; hope they continue to improve! I think we can make the event; we'll sure try!

Well.. I'll be squid food.
I won tickets for an advanced screening of this movie:

The screening is at 10 am (ugh) and I doubt I'll be back home before dinner. Saturdays are always fairly busy. =/

Well, sometimes life is apples and oranges, sometimes it's cats and dogs, and other times it's huge great fuck-off boulders with jagged edges... and they just keep falling at the moment.
However!
Still going to run the event this saturday (assuming the new AC adapter turns up for my laptop in time.. should arrive today at the latest after the old one faulted and fried the motherboard - I've been using an older Laptop, but it's not being overly friendly).
The event will be RP based and set around the research you've been carrying out (or at least the bits I know about, but feel free to throw more at me at the time)
Thank you all for your patience and bearing with me!
