Good news!
Today went about an order of magnitude better than I expected! Maybe more!

(Yes, I love the phrase "order of magnitude." :p )

Their cat did die, though.
Also... Well, I'll be sending a PM. Asking a favor, in a bit. I went into today consoling myself that at absolute worse, I could "make decent RP" out of any IG consequences of this RL stuff. Better than the worse case, but still...
Would like to make good RP, anyway!

So... Just learned that my stepdad has been diagnosed with Lyme Disease. Apparently, he contracted it this past July.

Anyway, taking him to his doctor's appointment later today. Hope it's been caught early enough to prevent any permanent harm.

Mom's also got either carpel tunnel, or arthritis in her hands (or both) and is expecting to be scheduled for surgery soon-ish. (Within a month or so.)

So... I'll be doing my best to give my folks TLC.

Good luck with the Lyme disease and I hope the treatment of your stepfather goes well. Hopefully the surgery will help your mother and alleviate any pain or loss of mobility she is suffering.
