Hey guys, I play 'Alo Hadeshorn' on Hala.
Anyways was um, fighting some minitors alone. They got the best of me, died, soon after a server reset. Well on relogin I was rewarded with all my gear back without a long walk.
Well better examination showed me I was missing a few key items. +2 ring of dex (panther ring), ring of invisablity, ki power belt, devine power belt.
Belts are easly replaceable in due time. Rings are not.. expecialy the Panther ring. Got that from the elven comander for RP reasons.
Know its a long shot.. but Hala have a backup program? Or a Hala DM also a Avilis/Rockhome DM that's willing to steal it off my equiped out-dated bic?
Have a problem

Re: Have a problem
This happened to Cal and someone else earlier today and Coloures was looking at the backups, apparently the latest he could find was February(!). When did you come over from another world as that may be the easiest option (but rather difficult considering the portals are all down now).lordpsycho wrote:Hey guys, I play 'Alo Hadeshorn' on Hala.

Considered that, my bic's still on rockhome and Avilis. Very outdated though, like 2 almost 3 levels behind. Been in hala for a long time now. That outdated it doesn't seem like a viable option to me (if there's any chance I can help it). This happened to Cal and someone else earlier today and Coloures was looking at the backups, apparently the latest he could find was February(!). The reason something like that vanishes is the following:
The ring has a reference code value in the database. When the autoinventory script fires on death/reload...it gives you items back based on those codes. The ring was not in the database, so you lost it.
This sucks, but unless there is a teammember with a lot of extra time on their hands, you might just have to consider this having been looted ICly and cope with the loss.
I know it sucks, a bunch...but not much we can do

I know why it happens. Why putting any function that simply strings ref's persistantly via NWNx and recalls them is flawed. Can easly link it up to local objects, then switch them over to nwnx persistant objects. That would fix any and all problems. That is unless you keep one BIG erf of all items on every single server and update that.. which isn't very effecient. The reason something like that vanishes is the following:

Prehaps a little slower, the speed of a SQL entry fetch, mixxed with a local target stored, it would work just as well.
*sighs* It's a fairly easy fix, but it does take direct DM involvement. Third time this has happened so I'm hoping a DM gets some time to help me out here. Hell even tell them how to help if required. Be apricated. Mean time guess I'll go back to Halo.
