door problem

In the Dark Dungeon, Fourth Floor, there is a door at the end of a hall that requires a specific key (I believe the key you get from a mage on that level). However, you use the key up going past, and coming back you cannot get out because it requires that key, and the mage to get it from is on the other side of the door.
