Went to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean a few days ago and it is GREAT!
Go see!
I was afraid it would be "just another sequel", but no, it's very good and worth seeing.... and stay 'til the end of the credits. =)
We went to see it in IMAX 3D and it was great, though we don't think the 3D added much to the film. So I suggest you go see it in 2D, unless you really are a fan of 3D stuff.
Pirates! YARRRR!!!!

Most of the live action 3D I've seen really isn't impressive. Never saw "Avatar" in 3D, so can't really say one way or the other.
I've loved most of the animated movies I've seen in 3D. "Tangled" was by far the best. The lantern sequence was amazing. Saw "Kung Fu Panda 2" and it was just as much fun as the original.
"Pirates 4" was fun and Captain Jack Sparrow is still my hero. Saw it in 2D and it was still fun. They turned off the movie so I couldn't see the end of the credits

Booo! Bummer.
Well our movie started 30 minutes late 'cause of a projector issue, so we missed the previews.... awww!
As for the end of the credits... well.... they left the door opened to a 5th movie. =) I'll tell you more personally, Tremayne, when I see you IG, if you want. No spoilers here!
But yep, most of the 3D things so far aren't impressive and don't really bring more to the movies... seems like the best ones are the "kids" movies. =)
However, Journey to the Centre of the Earth in 3D was awwwwwwwwwwesome! =D
