Alright, I would have placed this in the druid forum except that I would like as many dms to see this as possible... DM's can see all of the forums that players can and the obvious few more. Druids

Alright, I would have placed this in the druid forum except that I would like as many dms to see this as possible... Druids: To my knowledge Druids are given their power through their love of nature. Nature grants Druids power so that they may better care for Nature. I know this is not true in Avlis...

Your best bet would be to either make an In Character post in one of the taverns, or to ask someone IG.

To add to this. Just recently I was about to fight, lagged out, logged back in, and my character was on the ground at -1 hp. The only problem was that I wasn't in the bleeding script. I lagged out yet again, and when I came back, my character was at full health.

As I said earlier, I would not mind having psions send thoughts to each other across short distances(line of sight). I would not mind to have psions sense someones emotions or surface thoughts either, as long as they first asked the player if it was alright(*you feel a knock at your minds door, do y...

Ace seems to be worried about people being able to have their characters use the powers against his character. I can understand that concern. Here's my concern. I want to be able to use the powers for dramatic roleplay. I have no problem only doing this with other people who agree to it, which woul...

It sounds like some people (ace for example) have had bad exposure to psions (avlis maybe?) and we cault fault them for it having left a bad taste in their mouths. I've experienced psions on many servers, and I've seen the good and bad sides of them. As for you catching fault for my past experience...

My apologies for seeming too negative, I know that whatever is done, you at least will do it in a well rp'd way. I contact the person via a tell that says something along the lines of: *you feel a mental knock at your mind's door; do you let it in?* Well, I would have to say that would be an extreme...

The Telepathy would be too open to abuse and metagaming I think, and it would also be too much of a advantage to psions to be able to send pms across the world, no matter how controlled or moderated it was. I've experienced the rp'ing side of ESP before, and in my personal opinion, it's just one big...

Regarding ace's post, about NPC's, namely the mino wizards, I do try to avoid making any NPC's with timestop in their spell selection, I will also look into replacing timestop in any NPC's lists that may have them. I don't like the way that the AI abuses it, and they are even worse about abusing it...

On a slightly related subject concerning timestops. LP77's Custom guide. To go along with everything added above. I will add a few of my own. These are my own, for when I run events and not necessarily all DM's will follow this. Each have their own style and reasoning. 1. Timestop Sure it is nice to...

Correct me if I'm wrong then, but if someone sets you to hostile while they're standing right in front of you, you may consider it yet another escalation to the argument/fight, and it is on the same level as the other player casting an offensive spell at you or swinging a sword.

<< The entire 'setting to hostile' was ooc and therefore I couldn't blame my actions on it by saying "I sensed he was going to attack," or anything else. >> As I understand it, Tholoth (and others) are saying exactly that. That setting someone to hostile is or can be considered an IC acti...

Your missing the point. Your character is attacking because of a percieved threat from an individual. You could argue that to everyone else it would look like your starting the fight, as indicated, but if i was being a complete dickhead to you then you attacked me everyone would clearly understand ...

Given that players are trained by the game mechanics to interpret the red glow as hostile body language, it would make sense for a PC who is planning to set another PC to hostile, yet not act hostile, to emote along the lines of, *continues to seem calm and relaxed* or whatever demeanor is appropri...

Setting hostile in itself is an OOC action - and also a requirement if you intend to initiate any kind of physical CvC (fighting, spells, psionic abilities) See here If you're not sure why someone has set you to hostile - they're normally a friend, you've never met them before, etc, etc - then a qu...

However if you were arguing with me and we clearly were geting angry with each other and you set me to hostile I would conclude that you took a much more agressive stance towards me ICly. Perhaps your character started tightening straps on their armor, grabbed their sword and pulled it half way out...

On a slightly related note, what about charisma? A character with a high charisma is supposed to be a natural leader: Adolph Hitler was used as an example of a character with an 18 charisma. But what if you don't (as I don't) actually have any gifts of leadership? When I created Soleis I made him c...
