To state the bleeding obvious, I would say that by entering into an RP environment, one implicitly agrees/consents to CvC. Where the problems arise are in the region of terminology. Lets call a spade a spade here (or as they say round where I live “a bloody shovel”), what people get upset by is PvP....

well... to be fair, in order to see light must be able to pass in and out to your eyes. Therefore, for no light to be visible (your glowing eyes not to be seen), you must either have heavily obscured vision (and be emoting as much) or be effectively blind (and be emoting as much). The deep hood obsc...

As controversial as this would be I would suggest a few things based on both performance and D&D mechanics (I’ll steer clear of the word balance). Its been a long time since I’ve worked with NWN code, so I could be blowing hot air. If so, I apologise now. 1. Create a standard spiritual body of t...

just to chip in here, if players spend all their time trying to second guess if something was an IC or an OOC mistake, things are going to get insane fast. OK, misclicks are usually pretty much obvious when they happen, but when it comes to speach its less easy. So, within a little reason (2 comment...

well, theoretically, since dragon blood is linked to sorcs which is also why Sorc is one of the pre req classes for DD, then since bard is also a pre req class for DD, then they too much have the same gift as sorcs. Basically, I've always thought that sorcs and bards are very similar on a magical le...

whilst bards use performance to access magic (they can never cast silently by the PHB), its still magic. In the same way as Sorcs don't study magic theory like a wizard, they access magic more instinctively. Basically, if the people on Avlis kicked off because bards don't do proper magic, then they ...

"style" may mostly limit to "warrior class" in that case, though Rangers clearly fight differently to other classes as they actually gain a class specific feat in their fighting style (the dual weald they have is a different version to the one anyone else can get)

Re: do this mean..

So one can recognize thief and assassin too?, hurting bad without putting any strength behind the strike. no idea is it hitting on the back or striking at vulnerable spots, or what? At a guess I would suggest telling a sneak attack from a death attack might be kinda dificult - unless you have them ...

I have 3 cats, the eldest is female and a self imposed house cat. However the 2 younger male cats love to play outside and I know they would not be happy as house cats. neither are they always inexpensive

btw, do you actually suffer much in the way of write latency? (RAID 5 can cause this in high transaction DBs, but I'm not sure how many transactions per second a NWN server could create).

Its a daft question I know, but I assume RAID 10 is not an option?

I was pretty happy with 3rd ed tbh (well, 3.5 really). It was just such a huge improvement on 2nd ed but kept with the old D&D theme - from what I've heard, 4th ed is going to be binning some corner stone concepts, which in the cold light of day were pretty poor concepts, but they have made D&am...
